Hello, my name is Kelly and I am “Sew What Ipswich”. I developed this activity as a way to meet new people and also to provide encouragement and support to both experienced and novice sewers.
I LOVE creating items from scratch, and I really wanted to share the wonderful emotions that are associated with this.
As of the first of April 2019, I have leaped out into the wide world of creative business fun, and opened up my own sewing workshop/classes, fabric and haberdashery store, here in Ipswich QLD Australia. It has been a dream of mine for many years now, and I just had to see what becomes. I am also a Registered Nurse, who will be taking a break (but will continue to pursue my other passion of Nursing) for the time being. I am also a wife to a wonderfully supportive husband, Adrian, and a mother to a very precious little girl, Ida Lilly. The main focus of Sew What Ipswich, is providing encouragement and support for the craft of sewing, no matter what skill level. We will be providing a large variety of classes in order to grow in the knowledge and experience of sewing – from basics, overlocking, quilting, pattern reading, stretch fabrics, bag making, kiddies sessions, mens club and much more. Sew What Ipswich is excited to offer the additional services of Quilting frame hire, hourly rental of sewing/overlocker/cover-stich machine, knife and scissor sharpening, alterations and machine servicing, together with the venue of a small cafe for a cuppa and delicious baked treat.
For information on sessions, look under the ‘events’ section on the Sew What Ipswich Facebook page. Also, please don’t hesitate to send me a message with any questions.
